1. Language translating cell
phone
- Single TOMI chip, 64 CPUs +
1G DRAM
- Accelerates the Hidden
Markov Model for true real time bidirectional speech recognition and
translation
- Technology Partners:
Nuance, Language Weaver
The TOMI chip factors the
speech recognition and language translation across all 64 processors. Language
chips are available for the 22 standard Nuance language libraries. This holy
grail of parallel processing is alluded to as some sort of future possibility on
the INTEL WEB site. TOMI can do it this year.
TOMI ADVANTAGES: Due to
processing power required, power supply available, and prohibitive costs of
previous multicore CPUs, the translating cell phone is only possible with the
TOMI chip.
2. $100 subnotebook
- Single TOMI chip, 64 CPUs +
1G DRAM
- 800 x 480 touch screen LCD
- 0.25" thick
- 2000mah LiPoly battery,
10-14 hours of operation
- 8 Gbytes flash
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI,
USB, audio out, mic in
- Accepts USB GPS and other
radio receivers
- speech recognition (see
above)
- Ubuntu OS, Mozilla, email,
Open Office, Skype, Media player, speech enabled apps
- game developer SDK
- $100-$150 retail
TOMI Subnotebook will be
similar in appearance to the $400 Archos wireless media player retailed by Dish
Networks.
TOMI™ ADVANTAGES: Real-time
full vocabulary speech recognition is not possible prior to TOMI. TOMI CPU
solution is about 1/10 the power consumption of competing ARM-based solutions.
Smaller battery, cheaper battery, longer operating time, thinner product.
Through parallelizing graphics, TOMI enables high performance portable games.
3. Deep Packet Inspection
Backbone Router
- 16 TOMI chips on a DIMM
- 100 TOMI DIMMS on a
19" panel
102,400 CPUs + 200Gbytes
TOMI™ ADVANTAGES: 1,000 times
the performance and 1/100th the power consumption of CISCO's Aggregation
Services Router 1000 with Tensilica 40 core Quantum Flow Processor
4. TOMI™ Enorme Massively
Parallel Supercomputer
- 16 TOMI chips on a DIMM
- 100 TOMI DIMMs on a
19" panel
- 50 TOMI panels in a
60" rack
- 10 TOMI racks in a TOMI
Enorme circular cluster
51.2 million CPUs + 100Tbytes
- Redundant fiber channel
interconnect
- Forced air intake/forced
air exhausts 400kw power dissipation
TOMI Enorme is designed for
the class of algorithms including DNA sequencing (BLAST), financial modeling
algorithms, and real-time ray tracing. (Also known as "embarrassingly
parallel".)
TOMI ADVANTAGES: Largest
parallel processor by more than two orders of magnitude (factor of 100). TOMI
low power consumption per CPU should allow air-cooling. Can speed up drug
design by a factor of 10,000.
